2. Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs): These are digital, analog, or modular interfaces that connect to the sensors and actuators, gather data from them, and control them based on the program or set of instructions given.
3. Communication Infrastructure: To ensure the effective operation of a SCADA system, a reliable communication system is essential to connect the RTUs/PLCs with the central SCADA system. This infrastructure can include wired connections, wireless communication, networked systems, and more.
