The invention of integrated circuits is credited to Jack Kilby and Robert Noyce, who independently developed the technology in the late 1950s. Jack Kilby worked for Texas Instruments and created the first working integrated circuit in 1958, while Robert Noyce, co-founder of Intel, developed a planar process for manufacturing integrated circuits in 1959.
